So, as my move to France and settling into Civray continues, the most important part – The Workshop – is now open for business. Excited to say that it’s all set up and I’m creating again. The space is great, with a large piece of land for spring and summer events. And a good size space inside with office, showroom and garage. The workshop is centrally based in a small town called Savigné.
New projects
So, the new projects continue. The lightning oak series of sculptures and bowls is in full flow, and a new wood stock is being dried in the wood storeroom. I really am settling in and refocusing on my new life in France. Bringing the process of my work into a new domain is proving fruitful with lots of new ideas and new projects. This week it was especially nice to have two guest artists visit the space, to work on personal projects – resin casting a beer cap table and making wooden jewellery. This is what my space is all about, community and communication.
Many thanks to Brooklyn Shephard and Benjamin Branchu for sharing photos of their work and jewellery designs. And for the lovely feedback!
Open to new business ideas
Now that the workshop is open for business I seem to be getting lots more ideas. At the minute I’m working on new designs for serving platters. Here are a few in use.
