Expertise in Heritage parquet & Staircase restoration

Owning a château is about more than walls and roofs — it’s about stewarding history. Every parquet floor tells a story of craftsmanship, and restoring it demands the same level of artistry that created it centuries ago.

At Parfait Parquet, we have built a reputation across France for restoring and repairing parquet floors in some of the country’s most prestigious residences. From grand salons to intimate chambers, our work combines deep technical knowledge with respect for tradition, ensuring every floor is brought back to life with elegance and authenticity.

Architects, property investors, and discerning owners trust us to deliver finishes that are both historically accurate and enduring. We approach each project as a collaboration — balancing your vision with our expertise to create a floor that honours the heritage of your château while standing strong for generations to come.My Approach to Château Restoration

Every project is unique. I consider:

  1. The Age of the Property – historic Versailles, chevron, and herringbone parquet require tailored methods.

  2. The Structure Beneath – ensuring joists, beams, and supports are sound.

  3. The Desired Finish – matte, satin, oiled, or natural patina.

  4. The Future Use – family home, wedding venue & event space, or private retreat.

Our sanding and finishing systems restore the patina and longevity of historic wood, avoiding aggressive methods that strip away character.

Whether you’re renovating a château, a manor house, or a heritage site, we understand the unique balance between preservation and modern usability. We tailor each restoration to the age, architecture, and future use of the property — while helping clients make informed decisions that respect budget, practicality, and tradition.

Working With Clients

Around 40% of our clients live abroad — in the UK, US, Australia, and beyond. We understand the challenges of restoring a French property remotely.

  • All estimates are issued in French with English translations.

  • Contracts are signed digitally with a legal cooling-off period.

  • I provide photos, videos, and video-call sign-offs at each stage.

  • Daily or weekly progress updates reassure you every step of the way.

This process has been refined over more than a decade and ensures clarity, transparency, and confidence for non-resident owners.

My Values

Discretion is at the heart of our work. Around 70% of our château clients request complete confidentiality, which we respect fully. Unless invited to promote a commercial project (weddings, gîtes, events), we never disclose location or client details.

Most importantly, our job doesn’t end when we leave. We offer an aftercare programme to help clients maintain their floors long-term — including advice on minor repairs and finishing techniques. Restoration is about people, not just wood — and we remain available long after the final coat is dry.

Whether you are beginning your Chateau journey to buy or already renovating, or planning phased works, we offer site visits across France to assess your project, test their structure, and advise on finishes, techniques, and practical steps forward.
